# Add a DropInBlog Blog to Carrd

Pasting two code snippets from DropInBlog into Carrd’s Embed element adds a blog to a section of your site. The integration takes about 3 minutes.
|| Before you start: the Embed element is only available on Carrd’s Pro Standard plan or higher. Pro Standard also includes custom domains, which you’ll need later for the SEO Supercharger.
## How to Install DropInBlog on Carrd
1. In your Carrd dashboard, open the site you want to add a blog to by clicking the pencil icon.
2. In the page editor, click the section where you want your blog to appear.
3. Click the plus sign in the editor toolbar and select **Embed**.
4. In the settings of the Embed element on the left, under **Type**, select **Code**.
5. In DropInBlog, copy the code under **Blog Script**, then paste it into the **Code** field in Carrd and press Enter on your keyboard.
6. Return to DropInBlog, copy the code under **Blog Container**, and paste it into the **Code** field in Carrd, right under the Blog Script code.
7. Click the save icon in the top right of the editor, then in the slide-out menu on the left, click **Publish Changes**.
8. Click **View Website** to view your blog.
9. Go to the **Code & Layout** page in your DropInBlog account and click the **Verify Integration** button. If asked, paste the link to the blog section of your Carrd site into the blog URL input field (for example, your-domain-name/#blog), then click **Check Integration**. You’ll see a message that your blog is live.
## Where Your Carrd Blog Lives
Your posts are stored on DropInBlog’s servers and appear inside a section of your Carrd site. The URL structure of Carrd blogs and individual blog posts is the following:
* `your-domain-name/#blog` (blog homepage)
* `your-domain-name/?p=blog-post-name#blog` (individual blog posts)
If your site uses a free Carrd address, the same pattern applies, for example, `yoursite.carrd.co/#blog`.

Since Carrd is designed for one-page sites, it uses the hash symbol (#) to separate different sections on a page. That’s why your blog’s URL will also contain this symbol. The other query string in the URL is `?p=`, but unlike the hash symbol, it can be removed with the SEO Supercharger. The last step of Verifying the Integration explains how.
## Verifying the Integration
To verify the integration, create a new blog post:
1. Go to your DropInBlog account and open the **Posts** page.
2. Click the **Add Blog Post** button.
3. Inside the editor, add your content.
4. Select the **Published** option under **Status** and click **Save Post**.
5. Open your new blog post by clicking the **View Post** button and check that all of its elements are displayed correctly.
### One More Step: Turn On the SEO Supercharger
With your test post in place, your Carrd blog is up and running, and Google already indexes posts loaded this way. Other crawlers and link previews may only read your page’s starting HTML, which doesn’t include the posts.

Turning on the SEO Supercharger hands those readers a flat static HTML copy of each post. You also get cleaner URLs without `?p=`, a sitemap that updates every time you publish a post, and social shares that show each post’s SEO title, meta description, and featured image.

To turn it on, follow the steps in the[ __SEO Supercharger doc__](https://docs.dropinblog.com/en/article/the-seo-supercharger-w-cloudflare-connection-wyhm09/).
## Styling
Your blog uses your Carrd site’s fonts and colors, so it should match the rest of your page from the start. To change them, go to DropInBlog’s **Code & Layout** page. In the **Design Customizations** section under **Design**, adjust the settings, and click **Save Design Customizations**.

For anything Design Customizations doesn’t cover, add your own CSS under **Custom CSS** in the **Advanced Options** section below **Design**, then click **Save CSS**. The same section has **Blog Layout**, where you can switch between Grid, Basic, and Raw blog layouts.
## Troubleshooting
If your blog isn’t showing up, check these first:
* Check the published site, not the editor. Carrd’s Embed element doesn’t output anything in the builder, so your blog only appears once you publish the site.
* Check that you saved and published the changes after adding your blog code to Carrd. To do so, click the save icon, then **Publish Changes**.
* Check that the Embed element contains two code snippets. For the integration to work, you need to add both the Blog Script and Blog Container code to the Embed element. Paste whichever is missing from the **Code & Layout** page.
* Make sure you set the Embed element type to Code. If you set it to IFRAME instead, delete the code, set the Embed type to **Code**, and paste it there.
* Check that the Embed element’s style is set to Inline. The Hidden style places code in the page’s head or at the end of the body, not in the section where you want the blog.
* Check that the Blog URL in DropInBlog includes the section anchor. In DropInBlog, go to **Settings** and make sure **Blog URL** matches your blog section’s address exactly, including #blog.
If your blog is still not working, contact DropInBlog support and include a link to your blog page.
## Limitations
Carrd’s one-page format and plans shape what the blog can do:
* Carrd’s free plan and Pro Lite can’t run the blog, because neither includes the Embed element. **Solved:** upgrade to Pro Standard or Pro Plus.
* Post URLs always include #blog. Carrd sites are a single page, so your blog lives in a section, and the section anchor stays in every post URL, even with the SEO Supercharger on.
