# DropInBlog integration guide for Replit

This guide will show you how to integrate DropInBlog into your Replit website or app. You’ll copy the prompt, add your DropInBlog blog ID and API key, and your blog will be live in just a few minutes.
## Prerequisites
Before you start, you’ll need:
* An active DropInBlog account
* A free or paid Replit account
### Integration steps
To create a blog on Replit with DropInBlog, follow these steps:

3. [Add your API key](#4-step-3-add-your-api-key)
4. [Republish your Replit site](#4-step-4-republish-your-replit-site)

#### Step 1: Copy the Replit prompt
You’ll find the Replit prompt on the **Code & Layout** page of your DropInBlog account.

Copy it and paste it into the Replit’s prompt area, then run it.

#### Step 2: Add your blog ID
Once Replit’s Agent executes the tasks from your prompt, it will ask you to enter your **blog ID and API Key**.

#### Step 3: Add your API key
Return to the Code & Layout page of your DropInBlog account. Under your blog ID, you’ll see the API Key section and a button that says Generate API Key. Click on it, copy it, and paste it into Replit.

||| Save your API key somewhere because it won’t be visible in your DropInBlog account once you close the window.
Now that you’ve added the required data into Replit, click on **Continue** to finish the blog integration.

Once this step is complete, you’ll see a preview of your blog on the right side of the screen.
#### Step 4: Republish your Replit site
To save your new Replit blog, click on the **Republish** button in the top right.

Before you proceed to the final step, open your blog page in a new tab.
#### Step 5: Verify the integration
Go to the Code & Layout page of your DropInBlog account, click on the **Verify Integration** button, and if prompted, paste your blog link on this page.

The next message you should see is that your blog is live.

### Troubleshooting
If you followed the steps from this guide, your blog should work correctly. However, if you decide to reinstall the blog and haven’t saved your API token, here’s how you can resolve this issue:
* Hover over your profile image in your DropInBlog account and select **My API Keys**.
* On the following page, click on **Add API Key**.
* On the next page, name your API key (e.g., Replit blog) (1), set the access type to **Public** (2), and if you have more than one blog account, select the one you use for Replit under the **Has access to** (3).

You can then copy your new API key and reinstall your Replit blog.
