## Step 2: Import your existing blog posts into your DropInBlog account
Your next step is to import the posts you created with the BigCommerce native blog.

Before you import your posts, you can delete the demo posts that each DropInDemo blog has by default. To do that, select the **Apps** tab from the menu on the left, then click on **DropInBlog**, and click on the **Posts** tab in the top navigation menu.
![DropInBlog Posts page in the BigCommerce admin panel](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/posts-page-in-the-dropinblog-a_1gh4she.png)
Next, check the box in the top-left corner of the post list to select all of the posts, and then select **Move to Trash** from the **Bulk Actions** dropdown.
![Delete DropInBlog demo posts](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/delete-dropinblog-demo-posts_w6iaqf.png)
When you delete the demo posts, hover over the **More** tab from the admin panel of your DropInBlog app, then select **Import/Export** from the dropdown to import the posts from your BigCommerce blog.
![Accessing Import/Export page in the DropInBlog BigCommerce app](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/the-dropinblog-dropdown-menu_76jtjc.png)
On the Import/Export page, you’ll see the option to import blog posts from your BigCommerce blog and the number of posts you currently have on it.

Click on the **Import Blog Posts** button, and once the process is done, you’ll see a message informing you that the import was successful.

Select **Posts** from the top navigation bar and check if all your posts have been imported correctly.

To check your imported content on the live site, click on the **View Blog** button in the top-right corner of your DropInBlog dashboard.

At this point, you’ll have two blogs – your old blog created on BigCommerce and the new blog you created with DropInBlog. Your next step is to deactivate your old BigCommerce blog.

||| Before proceeding to Step 3, review your new DropInBlog blog. Make sure you’ve imported all your content from your old BigCommerce blog, and check the formatting. Once you’re happy with how your new blog looks and ready to officially migrate from BigCommerce to DropInBlog, move on to Step 3.
## Step 3: Deactivate your old BigCommerce blog
To deactivate the native BigCommerce blog, click on the **Storefront** tab from the sidebar menu of your BigCommerce dashboard. Then select **Blog**, and turn the toggle next to **Blog visibility** off.

## Step 4: Change the URL of your new DropInBlog blog
By default, BigCommerce blogs have a / **blog** handle. You can keep that handle by changing the default BigCommerce blog URL and assigning it to your new DropInBlog blog.

||| If you want your blog URL to end with /our-blog, you can skip this step.
To change the default blog URL, select the **Storefront** tab from your BigCommerce dashboard, then **Blog**.

Click on the **three-dots** menu to open the URL settings of the BigCommerce native blog.
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/blog-url-settings_1lw8vyf.png)
On the following page, change the page title to anything other than “blog,” and the blog URL will be automatically populated to match the new title.

Once done, click on the **Save Settings** button at the bottom right.
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/old-blog-url_1tw6y81.png)
You have now freed up the /blog handle for your DropInBlog blog.

To set your DropInBlog URL handle to /blog, open the app using the BigCommerce left-side menu.

Click on **Apps**, then **DropInBlog**, and select **Settings** from the top navigation menu.

In the text box under Blog URL, change “/our-blog” to “/blog” and save your changes.

Change the page title to “ **blog**,” uncheck the box next to **Redirect old URLs to this URL automatically**, and click on **Save & Exit**.

## Step 5: Add your new blog to the navigation menu
To make your DropInBlog visible and have it show on your store’s navigation menu, go to **Channels**, then **Web pages**.
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/web-pages_4j1slr.png)
This will take you to your new blog page. Click on the **X sign** on the right to make the page visible.
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/change-blog-visibility_15iermh.png)
Doing so will automatically add your blog page to your store’s navigation menu.

If the page isn’t added to the navigation menu, click on the page name to open its settings.

Then, in the **Navigation Menu Options** section, check the box next to **Yes, show this page on the navigation menu**, and select **No Parent Page** under **Parent Page**.

## Step 6: Connect DropInBlog with Cloudflare (Optional but recommended)
If you want to keep the same URL structure of your BigCommerce posts, you need to connect your DropInBlog blog with Cloudflare.

We have a two-part guide that will show you how to [connect Cloudflare](https://docs.dropinblog.com/en/article/connecting-cloudflare-1sa3ffg/) and [generate your Cloudflare API token](https://docs.dropinblog.com/en/article/generating-your-cloudflare-api-token-1gzv2k4/). There are some [BigCommerce specific Cloudflare settings](https://docs.dropinblog.com/en/article/the-seo-supercharger-w-cloudflare-connection-wyhm09/#2-specific-platform-instructions) as well.

## Step 7: Create 301 redirects
| If you connected your DropInBlog account with Cloudflare in the previous step, you can skip this step.
If you skipped the previous step and don’t have Cloudflare set up, you need to create 301 redirects that will take your visitors from your old BigCommerce posts to your new blog posts.

To do that, go to **Apps**, select **DropInBlog**, and then hover over the **More** menu to access the **Import/Export** page.
![Accessing DropInBlog's Import/Export page](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/accessing-import-export-page-d_1f6tbgn.png)
Scroll down to the section: **BigCommerce: Redirect BigCommerce URLs to DropInBlog**, and click on the **Create Redirects** button.
![Creating redirects in the DropInBlog app for BigCommerce](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/creating-redirects-in-the-drop_x672ug.png)
To check that the redirects have been created, click on the **Settings** tab in the left-hand side menu, then select **301 redirects** from the **Domain** section.
![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/1/3/f/1/13f179d913687a00/301-redirects_1ivhcgk.png)
Here, you can see a list of your old blog post URLs and the new ones – you should check if all of them have been redirected properly.

This is the last step of migrating your BigCommerce blog to DropInBlog.
