Authors

You can add multiple authors to your blog, and here’s how.

Accessing Authors page

Click Authors on the navigation menu to view existing authors on your blog, and delete, or add new ones.

Adding a new author

Look for the Add Author button on the Authors page, and click on it to add a new author profile to your blog.
Clicking on this button will open a new page where you can add a title (1), slug (2), and bio (3).

Title – This is the field where you’ll add the author’s name.

Slug – Create a customized link that will take users to the author's profile.

Bio – In this section, you can write about the author's experience and expertise and structure the content using the options available in the content editor, including text, images, and videos.

On the right side of the page, you have a couple of additional options.

You can add the author’s image (1) and assign them a specific AI voice (2).
The Blog Voice AI™ section will appear only if you enable it from the Settings page.

Upon toggling the switch below Blog Voice AI™, you can select the language (1), locale (2), gender (3), and voice (4). After you customize and assign an AI voice to a specific author, these settings will apply to all the posts created by that author.

SEO settings

At the bottom of the Authors page, you’ll find SEO Title (1) and SEO Description (2) fields, which are used to optimize author profiles for search engines.

Additionally, you can tick the box next to “ Hide From Crawlers” (3), if you don’t want search engines to index the author page.

SEO Title – Add the name of the author.

SEO Description – Say something about the author in a few words because SEO descriptions have a character limit (around 160 characters). If you exceed this limit, Google will truncate the description.

Click the Save Author button at the bottom of the page to add a new author profile.

Editing and deleting author profiles

To edit an existing author profile, hover over the author’s name and you’ll see a pencil icon. Click on it to open the author’s profile page.
To delete a profile, simply click the trash icon to the right of the author’s name.

Note that deleting an author from your blog will remove that author’s name from any posts it was assigned to.

Assigning authors to a post from within the post editor

When you create an author profile, you can assign it to any post on your DropInBlog blog.
To do that, open the post to which you want to assign an author, and, on the right-hand side of the editor, you’ll find the Author section.
To add an author to your blog post, select one of the available names from the dropdown and save your changes.

That’s all you need to know about authors.

Happy blogging!
