How to turn two-factor authentication on and off
Learn how to easily enable the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature in your DropInBlog account.
Before you start, make sure to download and install an authenticator app on your phone.
We suggest using Google Authenticator (setup guide) or Authy, but if you already use a different authentication app, you can use that app for setting up 2FA in your DropInBlog account.
Log in to your DropInBlog account, and hover over your profile picture in the top-right part of the screen.
A dropdown menu will appear, where you should select the My Info tab.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the Setup button under the Two-Factor Authentication section.
This will open a new page where you need to enter your DropInBlog account password and click on the Confirm button to proceed.
On the next page, you’ll see a reminder to download and install an authentication app. Right below that, you’ll see the Continue button.
Clicking this button will open the 2FA setup page. First, scan the QR code with the authenticator app you have installed on your phone.
When you do that, the authenticator app will generate a six-digit code on your mobile device, which you should then enter in the text field below the QR code.
Click on the Finish button to finalize the setup process.
You’ll see a confirmation message that two-factor authentication has been enabled for your account.
The next time you log in to your DropInBlog account, you’ll be asked to enter the code from your authenticator app after you’ve entered your password.
To get the code, simply open your authenticator app, and you’ll see a six-digit code like the one in the image below.
Next, enter that code into the text field under Code in your DropInBlog account.
Click on the Login button below, and you’ll be taken to your DropInBlog admin panel.
If you don't wish to use this feature, here’s how you can turn it off.
Navigate to the My Info tab from your admin panel and scroll the page to the Two-Factor Authentication section. Next, click on the Disconnect button.
You’ll be prompted to enter your DropInBlog account password. Once you do that, click on the Confirm button.
On the next page, you’ll be asked to confirm your choice, which you can do by clicking the Disconnect button.
After this step, you’ll see a confirmation message, letting you know you’ve successfully turned 2FA off.
That’s all you need to know about DropInBlog’s 2FA feature, but if you have any questions for us, feel free to message us.
