How to add videos to your blog post
DropInBlog allows you to add videos to your blog posts by pasting links or embedding them into your content.
Most video platforms are supported, but with YouTube and Vimeo, you can use both a video URL and embed code. For other platforms, you can add a video only by embedding a video code.
To add a video, start a new post, or edit an existing one to open the editor.
Once in the editor, look for the video icon in the toolbar at the top.
Visit YouTube or Vimeo to find the video you want to add, and copy the short link from the Share menu.
Go back to the post editor, click on the video icon, and paste the URL of the video below the link icon.
Select Insert to add the video to your post.
You’ll see the video preview inside the editor.
To play the video, you will need to publish your post.
Another way to add a video is to click on the video icon and select the Embedded code tab.
Copy the embed code from the video platform where your video is hosted.
Paste the code into the text box and click Insert.
That’s it!
One thing to keep in mind is that YouTube Shorts can only be added via embedded code.
To copy the embedded code, open a YouTube Shorts video, and after you right-click on it, select Copy embed code.
Then click on the video icon inside the DropInBlog editor, and paste the copied code into the Embedded Code tab.
It’s also possible to move the video within the editor.
To do that, click anywhere on the video preview, drag it, and then drop it into the desired location.
You also have the option to change the video you added to your post.
First, click the video preview, and select the two arrows below it.
Clicking the two arrows will open the link field, where you can add a URL or embed code of another video.
Don’t forget to click the Insert button to save your changes.
If you want to delete a video, click on the video preview, and select the trash icon to remove it from your post.
Bonus: Most videos will be lazy-loaded with video schema for SEO and user experience purposes. Rest assured your posts with videos will load super fast and be Google-friendly.
And that’s how you add, replace, and delete videos in your blog posts.
Happy blogging!
