Add a DropInBlog Blog to HighLevel

Installing the DropInBlog app in your HighLevel account automatically creates a DropInBlog account for you, and the DropInBlog widget you place on a new HighLevel page becomes your blog. The setup takes under 5 minutes.

Before you start: the app installs per sub-account, so pick the sub-account for the website where you want the blog to appear.

How to Install DropInBlog on HighLevel

  1. From your HighLevel dashboard, open the App Marketplace page, search for DropInBlog, and click the app.
  2. On the following page, click the Install button, select the sub-account you want to add a blog to, and click Continue.
  3. On the app’s installation page, click Allow & Install.
  4. Select a pricing plan, choose who pays for the app (the selected sub-account or your agency), and click Confirm. You’ll see a pop-up with the sub-accounts where the DropInBlog app was installed.
  5. Click Return to HighLevel and switch to the sub-account where you installed the DropInBlog app.
  6. Open the Sites page, select the Websites tab, and click Add new page.
  7. Enter the name of the page (for example, Blog), set the slug to match the page name, and click Create new page.
  8. Click the Edit button to launch the HighLevel builder.
  9. In the editor, select Widget Marketplace, click the Installed tab, then drag and drop the DropInBlog widget onto the page.
  10. Click the Publish button, then use the page link near the top of the editor to open your new blog page and copy its URL.
  11. Exit the page builder and open DropInBlog from the menu on the left.
  12. Open the Code & Layout page and click Verify Integration. If asked, paste the link to your blog page into the blog URL input field, and click the verification button again. You’ll see a message that your blog is live.

Where Your HighLevel Blog Lives

DropInBlog hosts the posts, and HighLevel displays them on your own domain, on the page you created. The blog homepage and individual blog posts use this URL structure:

  • your-domain-name/blog-name
  • your-domain-name/blog-name/?p=blog-post-title

The ?p= comes off once you turn on the SEO Supercharger, covered at the end of Verifying the Integration.

What About the Blog I Already Have on HighLevel

DropInBlog doesn’t affect blog posts you created with HighLevel’s built-in blog. They stay live on their own URLs until you unpublish or delete them. If you want to move your posts over to DropInBlog, you’ll have to find an export app first since HighLevel doesn’t have a built-in export tool. Once you’ve exported your content, follow these steps to bring it over to DropInBlog:

  1. In DropInBlog, open the Import/Export page.
  2. Click the upload button under Blog Post CSV and add the CSV with your blog posts.
  3. Click Map CSV Fields, connect the file fields with DropInBlog’s fields, then click Import.
  4. In HighLevel, create 301 redirects for your old blog post URLs. Go to Sites, click the gear icon, and under URL Redirects, click Add a Redirect.

Verifying the Integration

To test the integration, create a new blog post:

  1. Use the left-hand side menu in HighLevel to open the DropInBlog page.
  2. Click Add Blog Post to open the editor.
  3. Add your content.
  4. Select Published under Status and click Save Post.
  5. Once you’ve saved the post, click View Post to open it and check that all the elements load properly.

One More Step: Turn On the SEO Supercharger

A test post that loads properly means the widget is working. Google already indexes posts delivered this way. Plenty of other crawlers, including AI tools, read only the HTML a page starts with, so they can miss your posts.

The SEO Supercharger gives them something they can read: static versions of your posts, with cleaner URLs (no ?p=), that are easier for search engines and AI tools to read and cite. You only need to set it up once, and it’s included in your plan.

Then follow the steps in the SEO Supercharger doc to turn it on.

Styling

Your DropInBlog blog adopts the design of your HighLevel website automatically, so it should fit in without extra work. You can change the inherited style settings on the Code & Layout page of your DropInBlog account, in Design → Design Customizations.
You can also make CSS-based changes to your blog’s design. To do that, paste your CSS under Custom CSS, in the Advanced Options section below Design on the Code & Layout page.

Troubleshooting

If your blog isn’t showing up, check these first:

  • Check that you installed the DropInBlog app on the sub-account you wanted. If you installed it on a different account, install the app again and select the sub-account to which you want to add a blog.
  • Make sure that you added the DropInBlog widget to a new page after installing the app. From the Sites tab, go to Websites → Add new page, then drag and drop the blog widget to that page.
  • Check that you published your site after adding the blog widget. Click the Publish button in the top right once you add the blog widget.
  • Check that the Blog URL in DropInBlog matches your live page. In DropInBlog, go to Settings and make sure Blog URL matches your blog page’s address exactly.

If your blog is still not working, contact DropInBlog support and include a link to your blog page.

Limitations

DropInBlog runs alongside HighLevel’s own blog tools, so a few of them don’t cover your DropInBlog posts:

  • Your posts aren’t HighLevel blog posts. They won’t appear in HighLevel’s own blog, its categories, or anything HighLevel generates from its blog content. Solved: DropInBlog has its own categories and RSS feed. Find the feed in Settings, below Blog URL.
  • HighLevel’s sitemap won’t include your posts. It works from HighLevel’s own pages. Solved: submit DropInBlog’s sitemap to Google Search Console instead.
  • HighLevel’s site search won’t find your posts. It works from HighLevel’s own pages, too. Solved: DropInBlog’s Instant Search searches every post on your blog.
  • HighLevel’s AI blog writer only works with HighLevel’s own blog. Solved: use Blog Pilot™ to get post ideas and outlines in DropInBlog, and connect DropInBlog’s MCP server to draft, edit, and publish posts through AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude.
