Social Settings
From your DropInBlog account, you can access the following features:
Comments
Social Media Sharing
Highlight to Share
Read Progress Indicator
To turn these features on or off, open the Settings page from the top menu navigation and scroll down to the Social Settings section.

To enable comments on your blog, turn the switch next to Comment system on.
Toggling this switch will open the two commenting systems you can enable on your blog: Disqus and Facebook.
To learn how to get a Disqus Shortname, read our guide on enabling comments on your blog with Disqus.
If you want to use Facebook comments, we have a separate guide on how to connect DropInBlog with your Facebook account.
From the Social Settings section of the Settings page, you can also add social sharing buttons to your blog posts.
After you turn Social Media Sharing on, you can decide whether you want to display the social sharing options at the top, bottom, or both the top and the bottom of your blog post (1).
You can also choose which platforms your visitors can use to share your content (2). The supported platforms include:
Facebook
X
LinkedIn
Pinterest
Whatsapp
Telegram
Email
RSS
Toggle the switch next to the options you want to show on your posts.
Apart from allowing your blog’s visitors to share an entire post from your blog, you can also let them choose a section of a post they want to share.
For this, you can use DropInBlog’s Highlight to Share feature – which you can turn on in the Social Settings section of the Settings page as well.
Once this feature is enabled on your account, your visitors will be able to highlight any part of your post and, from the menu that appears above the highlighted part, select where they want to share the selected content.
The above-the-text menu offers the option to copy selected text or share it via Whatsapp, Telegram, X, LinkedIn, and email.
The last of the four features you can turn on from the Settings page is the Read Progress Indicator.
With this feature enabled on your blog, your visitors will see a grey circle on the left side of your blog posts.
As they scroll, the circle will gradually fill with the color green, indicating how much of the post they’ve read.
When they reach the end of your blog posts, the circle will disappear.
These are all the features you’ll find in the Social Settings section on your Settings page, and now you know how easy it is to turn them on or off.
Make sure to hit the Save All Changes button at the bottom of this section whenever you turn a feature on or off.
Happy blogging!
