How to display recent posts on your Thinkific homepage
One way to increase engagement on your site is to make your blog content visible across different pages. This guide will show you how to add DropInBlog’s Recent Posts widget to your homepage or any other page of your Thinkific website.
Step 1: Open the Thinkific page editor
Find the page where you want to display the recent posts from your blog. Navigate to Channels → Website, then click on the page to launch the editor.

Step 2: Add a Recent Posts section to your homepage
Once we’re in the editor, we’ll click on the Add Section button on the left-hand side of the editor.

This will open a new window. Scroll all the way down until you see Recent Posts in the DropInBlog section, then click on it to add it to your page.

Step 3: Customize the Recent Posts section
After you’ve added the Recent Posts section to your page, you’ll see it on the left-hand side of the page editor.

You can select where this section appears by changing its position in the left sidebar menu using the drag handle on the left.

Next, when you click on this section, you’ll see a few different options for customizing it.

- Heading title (1): The default title is “recent posts,” but you can change it to anything you’d like (e.g., “latest posts,” “new from our blog”)
- Number of posts to be displayed (2): Set the number of posts you want to be shown inside the Recent Posts section.
- Display (3): Choose how your posts are shown – a list of links, or post previews with a thumbnail, title, author, and post metadata.
- Category filters (4): If you want to display only the posts from a specific category on your Thinkific blog, just type the name of that category into the text box below.
Step 4: Save your changes
Once you’re happy with the Recent Posts section, click on the Save button at the bottom. Then, to make these changes live, click on the Save button in the top-right corner of the page editor.

Your recent posts will be shown on the page where you’ve added this section.
Removing the Recent Posts section
To delete the Recent Posts section, from within the page editor, click on the Recent Posts section to go to its settings.
At the bottom of the section settings, you’ll see the Delete section button. Click on it to remove recent posts from your Thinkfic page.

If you want to showcase the latest content from your Thinkific blog on other pages as well, follow these same steps to add the Recent Posts section anywhere on your Thinkific site.
Common issues
- Recent Posts section not showing on your live site: Make sure you’ve saved the section and published your site (Step 4).
- No posts appearing in the widget: If your blog is new or empty, there won’t be any posts to display.
- Category filter not working: The category name must match your blog category exactly. Using a category that doesn’t exist will return no posts.
- Section added but not visible on the page: Check the section’s position in the layout. It may be placed too far down or hidden between other sections.
- Changes not updating in live site: Try refreshing the page or viewing in an incognito window (browser caching issue).
Happy blogging!
